Every now and then, it actually strikes me as odd how my much life has become one defined primarily by multitudes of overlapping rectangles containing an nearly infinite but ephemeral stream of tiny meandering thoughts sent seemingly from a universe away by my little square friends often to no one in particular and apropos of nothing.

And then I get back work...

Just me, my furry office mate and my tiny little square friends. What an ultramodern, fantastical and lonely little world we've made for ourselves.

"480 Minutes" - The Torrent of New Music Continues

Today is your last chance to win tickets for tomorrow's Download Festival at the Shoreline Amphitheatre. There are some great shows coming up in the Bay Area in early August, and the week of the next Rumble sports two of them. On Tuesday August 5th BAGeL Radio Presents... Darker My Love, Lumerians, and The Eulogies -at- The Independent. The $10 ticket price includes a copy of the new DML album, "2" -- how cool is that? The next night (Wednesday 8/6) is the August Rumble, and then that Friday 8/8 our friends The Owl Mag are celebrating their 3rd Anniversary at the Independent with Wallpaper, Hottub, & Vitamin Party, plus DJ sets by Aaron Axelsen of Live 105 and Amplive of Zion-I. 久しぶりにQotDに答えます。。。

野茂英雄の試合を一回見ました。1995年のプレーオフ、ドジャーズがCincinattiに来ていたので、昼は大学から友だちの車で往復2時間以上かけてチケットを買って、夕方に試合を見ました。

10月6日、すでに二試合落としているドジャーズはもう崖っぷち。そして奇跡は起きず、５回なげて自責点が５個。野茂のルーキーシーズンの最初の試合を見たんだね。。。

野茂英雄はアジア人野球選手に対する様々な偏見（悪意が無いものが殆どだったが）を崩していったと思います。

日米通算201勝などすばらしい成績を残した野茂英雄投手が現役引退を表明しました。野茂投手のイメージや思い出、日本人大リーガーについての思いを教えてください。

Annabelle & me: underwater portrait

I'm taking scuba lessons and I'm pretty darn excited about it.

While Dave's away in Germany this time, he signed me up to get certified so we can go diving together. He's already official, gear geeked up and ready to go and I'll be able to join him once I pass the test.

The class takes place in the pool, but our final exercise happens in the ocean waters off Monterey Bay.

I've got some homework to do, but I know lots about breathing calmly under pressure so I should do just fine!
