Apple planning iPhone SDK

In February, Apple will release a native SDK for the iPhone. Apps will need to be signed (ugh), but at least this lays the groundwork for real 3rd party development on the iPhone/iPod Touch platform. And by development, I mean games.

Audio & Video in Webkit

No Flash on your iPhone? No problem. The WebKit team is hard at work implementing the WhatWG Audio and Video elements. This, combined with SVG and Canvas should make the platform fairly decent (if a bit slow) for games.
