Found this on YouTube—a video of someone (badly) playing through the opening level in Marathon Infinity. I made this level and the accompanying textures in 1996 while drinking way too much Coke and listening to Portishead. The music definitely influenced the textures.

the boy and i have been waiting FOREVER for portishead to work on another album. we gave up hope last year when the rumors kept circulating, but nothing was actually being done.

oh man. i think i am totally going to piss myself with happiness.

I had no idea they were working on a new album until 5 minutes before I wrote this post. Then at that point, all I had was a little bit of news from 2006. I checked their blog completely randomly and saw their update from 3 days ago. Awesome.

I’m really hoping it won’t be a disappointment like FSOL’s post-gap album.

Wouldn't the proper web 2.0 mashuppy thing be for you to remix the YouTube video with a Portishead soundtrack for us so we could hear what you're talking about?

I think it would be to reimplement it using Ruby on Rails, er Aleph One and mix it down on my MacBook and put it on BitTorrent.
