Alleycat. Saturday, December 8. Race for food on your fixie/MTB/cruiser/junker/whatevs. Prizes for biggest turkey (or ham), specific items, and most food collected. All proceeds (and food) go to feed families over the holiday. I raced last year, and I’ll race again this year.
Much higher coordination of skills than Critical Mass, despite the [required] PBR fitted to your bottle cage.
Raced in an all fixed-gear alleycat today. The route between the checkpoints took us from the ballpark, along the Embarcadero, to the Wharf and back to Dolores Park. Traffic was dead-stopped on Van Ness. There were 5 of us in a dead heat dodging cars & Muni racing back to the park.
Got 9th place by a half second (behind Jenny, who owned on Van Ness opposing traffic). Won some sweet japanese cycling stickers!
